Needs
These are the things we most desperately need.
- MONEY- is the most important thing! We need money for things like veterinary care, travel to pick up unwanted or abused animals and bring them to their new home, supplies, utilities and hundreds of other incidentals!!!
- CHAIN LINK FENCE - Law requires our enclosure to be constructed out of ten-foot tall, 9 gauge chain link. A six-foot tall secondary perimeter fence must be installed around the primary enclosure to prevent spectators from placing their hands into the primary enclosure. The primary enclosure must be covered with a complete chain link canopy to keep animals from going over the top. The minimum size of a big cat enclosure is 50 feet by 50 feet. It must have double-locked gates to prevent all possibility of escape. To create an enclosure for one cat we need:
- A) 450 running feet of 9 gauge ten-foot tall chain link fence (200 feet for the sides, 250 feet for the top)
- B) 248 running feet of six-foot tall (any gauge) chain link secondary fence
- C) Fence poles, two gates and associated hardware
- DEN BOXES – Our animals must have a place to retreat for protection against their cage mates and to go for protection against extreme weather conditions. To make one big cat den box for the enclosure we need:
- A) 200 cinder blocks for wall
- B) 5 sheets of 3/4 inch plywood for the roof system
- C) 30 2 x 4 beams for the roof system
- D) 6 bundles of shingles
- E) 2 pieces of 1/2 inch steel - four feet tall, by three feet wide for den box containment doors. These doors can be raised or lowered from outside of the cage by use of a pulley system to contain the cat within the den box when necessary.
- F) 2 come-a-long style pulley systems to lift and keep open the 1/2 inch doors listed above.
- CEMENT - We need cement for the enclosure 50’ x 50’ foot pads. This cement must be poured from a truck due to the Volume required. We also need bagged cement for fence poles and such.
- WALK-IN FREEZER - We are in desperate need of a large walk-in freezer to store the hundreds of pounds of meat our animals require.
- SPECIAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED - Four wheeler, tree limb chipper, tractor or backhoe with loader bucket, bull dozer, Steam Jenny & pressure washer, pickup truck, cargo van, power generator & security video system.
- FOOD - We need raw meat.
- ENCLOSURE POOLS - Tigers must have a pool of water in their enclosure; the water must be deep enough to cover their backs as they stand in the water
- ENCLOSED PULL-BEHIND TRAILER - We need a fully-enclosed pull-behind trailer at least twelve feet long. Often time’s BIG CATS need to be rushed to the veterinarian, and we must have an enclosed trailer large enough to support a six-hundred pound animal, a transport cage, first-aid equipment and two caregivers if necessary.
- 100 PSI 1 INCH WATER LINE - For supplying water to all enclosures.
